The garden courtyard — or the Cour Jardin — is ablaze with flowering vines and geraniums; the antique wood panelling in Le Bar du Plaza Athénée gleams in its luxuriant setting; guest rooms feature the finest fabrics and furnishings, while world-famous master chef Alain Ducasse sends out masterpieces from his kitchen to the equally stunning Restaurant Plaza Athénée.

Décor

The hotel has two main design schemes. The first six floors are a perfect example of French taste at its best, with Louis XV, Louis XVI and Regency style furnishings, fabrics recreated from 18th century originals, fine mouldings and decorative fireplaces. It is the only Parisian grand hotel with two Art Deco floors. The seventh and eighth floors play boldly on Art Deco themes and also pay tribute to haute couture with original sketches by the great fashion designers decorating corridors and suites.

Guest Rooms

There are 188 entirely refurbished rooms and suites, some with sun-splashed terraces. The rooms' luxurious design is complemented by the most up-to-date amenities. Rooms have Internet and e-mail access via the television, cable channels, a video player, internal TV network, two-line telephones (including a direct line and voicemail), hi-fi/CD player, fax modem, and adjustable air conditioning. Fax machines are available upon request. Marble bathrooms feature separate shower and bath, and the Athénée's brand of amenities.

A pillow menu allows guests to choose feather, foam or ergonomic styles. Guests also have their choice of blanket and duvet, and special non-allergenic linens are available. The hotel's staff is at guests' beck and call, ensuring that all needs are accommodated discreetly, from carefully hanging clothes in the wardrobe to special dinner reservations.

The Hôtel Plaza Athénée's 44 suites include the 500-square-meter (5,380 sq. ft.) Royal Suite, which overlooks the Avenue Montaigne. In addition, a duplex is available — featuring a private fitness room and sauna, as well as a terrace with a stunning view of the Eiffel Tower.
