Sometimes even the best web sites, guide books and travel brochures might not answer all your specific questions about a destination, its people, or local lore. Perhaps you need some reassurance that an itinerary recommended by a friend is a good one, or you'd like ideas on where to buy a particular item, or the cheapest place to rent a bicycle.
You've come to the right place! We've scoured the Internet and our personal contacts, to assemble a team of Experts who can help you with that elusive nugget of information you seek. No matter where in France you plan to travel, there is likely to be an expert here who can field your question authoritatively, or direct you to the proper resource.
Keep in mind that most of the Experts listed below are volunteers, hosted on numerous sites which are not affiliated in any way with DiscoverFrance.net. Opinions expressed by these volunteers are subjective, and represent the viewpoints of those individuals only. Please read the DISCLAIMER for more details.
Students: Unless indicated otherwise in the descripion for a particular Expert, we discourage posing questions asking for help with school homework assignments. That is not their purpose. Instead, we suggest you investigate several excellent resources which are intended specifically for homework help: Big Chalk, BJ Pinchbeck's Homework Helper, Genius Papers, Multnomah County Library Homework Center, Jiskha Homework Help, AOL@School, and Yahooligans! School Bell. For questions related to French language, grammar, syntax, etymology, slang, etc., you might wish to consult AllExperts' French Language volunteers.
As changing lifestyles, jobs and ports of call affect Experts just like the rest of us, some of the links below may cease to function over time. Should you encounter one which no longer works, or you send an e-mail which bounces back as undeliverable, please notify the webmaster. Also, if you would like to volunteer as an Expert, or you wish to be removed, let us know. Thank you!

Provence is the place I live and work. Owner of a small tourism company in this area, I can give you local advice on hotels, B&B, transportation, markets, places not to miss, and unusual sites. I'm not commercially linked to any of these, and I just recommend places I like for their kindness or fair prices. |

(Paris only) I've made numerous trips to Paris, and helped plan visits for many others, as well as being a chaperone on a group tour. The City of Light is a major hobby with me: I have a library of about 40 books on the subject, and particularly love the literary Paris of the 1920s. |
