Cojean is a small chain of French high-end fast food restaurants specializing in the production of organic and original salads, sandwiches, soups, juices and hot dishes for eat-in or take-out. Founded by Alain Cojean in 2001, it is a simplified joint stock company managed by Harpan.
The first Cojean establishment opened its doors on 15 November 2001 at 6 rue de Sèze in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. By the end of 2010, the company had built 17 restaurants, all of them located in Paris and its close suburbs. 2010 revenues were €19 million.
The restaurant's menu changes daily, and every product is made with fresh ingredients, prepared in a central kitchen and delivered to each store every day. Cojean has apparently established a market niche: 3 out of 4 of its customers are women. (see videos)
Cojean's company slogan is "Nourrir, Aimer, Donner" ("Feeding, Loving, Giving"). Unsold food is donated to two charitable organizations, Armée du Salut (the French Salvation Army) and La Chorba.
