Synopsis: The final section of the late Krzysztof Kieslowski's
acclaimed Three Colors trilogy (preceded by "Blue" and "White")
is a strong, unique piece that reflects upon the ubiquity of
images in the modern world and the parallel subjugation of
meaningful communication. Irene Jacob plays a fashion model
whose lovely face is hugely enlarged on a red banner no one in
Paris can possibly miss seeing. Striking up a relationship with
an embittered former judge (Jean-Louis Trintignant), who secretly
scans his neighbors' conversations through electronic surveillance,
Jacob's character becomes an aural witness to the secret lives of

Synopsis: From Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski, who created
the "Blue," "White" and "Red" trilogy, comes this enigmatic drama
about duality. Veronika, a young Polish woman, embraces each aspect
of her life with zeal. She has many friendships, sexual and platonic,
and a variety of interests. A serious heart ailment, however,
debilitates her periodically, but she refuses to let it hold her
back. On her way to a singing contest, she sees a woman who is her
spitting image. Veronika tries to catch the lookalike's attention
but fails. The second woman is named Veronique and, later, SHE begins
to feel as if she, too, has an "other." Or, are these two really
separate manifestations of the same woman?
